HAMILTON COUNTY, Ohio – Two Ohio sheriff’s deputies recently helped out a boy who had his shoes stolen from bullies.

According to a Facebook post from the Hamilton County Sheriff’s Office, the “youngster” had no other choice but to wear his grandmother’s shoes to school, which caused further bullying. He even reportedly skipped school the next day to avoid the taunting.

The deputies heard about the kid’s situation and decided to take up a collection within their district to pay for a new pair of shoes. When they collected enough, they took the boy to Foot Locker, where he got to pick out the pair he wanted.

Hamilton County Sheriff Jim Neil issued the following statement regarding the good deed.

“In a time when nationally some want to bash police and portray us all in a negative light, I hope people realize THIS is the face of law enforcement!” said  Sheriff Neil.
