KOKOMO, Ind. – A Kokomo man is facing several criminal charges after he drove under the influence and crashed his car into two homes. The crash sent two children to the hospital and caused thousands of dollars in damage.

“It sounded like something fell on the house, but it was my front porch being destroyed,” said homeowner Debbie McKay.

Debbie McKay and her husband Chris were having a quiet night at home when they heard a loud screech, violent smash, and saw a cloud of dust after 31-year-old Brent Langley crashed into their home.

“I heard a screeching noise and then crunching and the house started shaking like crazy,” said Chris McKay.

The McKays ran outside and found out there was more damage than they thought. Langley had not only hit their porch but had also driven through the side of their neighbor’s home. The front bumper of the Jeep was in the family’s living room.

“He was probably doing at least 50 mph,” said Debbie.

Bloody and disoriented, Langley told Kokomo Police that he had sped away from someone who threatened to rob him. Officers found more than $1,000 in cash along with marijuana in the car.

“I forgave him for what he did, but I’m still so upset,” said Debbie.

Langley faces charges for trying to flee the scene of a crash, possession of marijuana and two counts of operating while intoxicated.
