Police recover ATV after shooting on northeast side of Indianapolis

INDIANAPOLIS – Officers are investigating after a man was shot on the city’s near northeast side early Thursday morning.

Officers were called to the intersection of East 37th Street and Caroline Avenue shortly after 12:30 a.m. on reports of a person shot.

When they arrived, officers found a man suffering from at least one gunshot wound. The man told investigators he was shot while sleeping on his porch. IMPD said the suspect may have been riding an ATV that was recovered a short distance away from the scene.

A neighbor was in his basement at the time of the shooting and told FOX59 he heard several gunshots.

Aggravated Assault detectives are investigating but have not released any suspect information at this time.
