2 seriously injured after car strikes scooter

INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. – A 23-year-old woman and a 26-year-old man were seriously injured when a car struck their scooter early Sunday morning.

IMPD responded to the call near 38th Street and North Park Avenue around 3 a.m.  The car appeared to come up on the motorcycle and strike it from the rear.

While emergency services tried to clear up the scene, the motorcycle remained upright with the rear wheel embedded in the front bumper of the car.

Police say driver of the scooter was taken to Sidney and Lois Eskenazi Hospital in critical condition. The passenger was taken to Indiana University Health Methodist Hospital in serious condition.
