INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. --Good Sunday evening! Break out the light jackets, you may need them Monday morning! Temperatures will dip to the mid-50s under a mostly clear sky. We'll have low humidity and light winds out of the northwest and that will set the stage for the chilly weather to start the work and school week.
The pleasant weather will continue Monday afternoon with low humidity, sunshine and highs in the upper 70s. Tuesday will also bring nice weather as high pressure remains in control. With a south wind Tuesday, highs will be a touch warmer and in the low 80s.
Speaking of temperatures, after crunching some numbers, I've found that about 75 percent of days have been above average this summer in Indy.
Rainfall has also been plentiful this summer. Indy is sitting at 3.47 inches above average on rainfall this summer.
A trough of low pressure will move in toward mid-week and allow moisture to increase across the area with a south wind flow. Expect high humidity by Wednesday with our next chance of showers and t-storms. We'll also be tracking a risk of some strong to possibly severe t-storms as well. Thursday will likely bring wet weather until a cold front moves through and allows quiet weather for Friday. --Danielle Dozier
