Man in critical condition after being shot near Indiana State Fairgrounds

INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. – A man was shot in the chest near the Indiana State Fairgrounds Sunday afternoon.

Police were called to the shooting in the 500 block of Fairfield Avenue after the victim was found in a parking lot, owned by the fairgrounds, around 1:30 p.m. The victim was sent to Sidney and Lois Eskenazi Hospital in critical condition.

Police say they do not believe this was a random shooting.

Bystanders tell FOX59 that the incident may have been a result of a dispute over a parking space. Police have not yet confirmed this.

Police are looking for the shooter.
