Man reportedly killed in skydiving accident in Middletown, Ohio

MIDDLETOWN, Ohio – A skydiver died Sunday morning after an accident in Middletown, Ohio.

WKRC reports the accident happened around 11 a.m. near the Middletown Regional Airport.

The owner of Dropzone, John Hart, says the skydiver had performed 95 jumps and was on this skydive with two other people.

The skydiver reportedly deployed his parachute below the recommended altitude and cut his main away too low. Several mistakes were made during the jump and the accident could have been prevented, according to Hart.

The skydiver’s body was recovered by emergency personnel and the Butler County Coroner’s Office. His name was not immediately released.

The accident has since been turned over to the Federal Aviation Administration.
