GREENWOOD, Ind. – Reigning Indiana 6A State Champions Center Grove opened a newly renovated stadium in their season opener, but the Trojans plans were foiled by visiting Warren Central, as the Warriors pulled out a 21-16 win.

Scoreless early, after a Warren turnover, CG struck first as Jack Kellams hit Trevor Hohlt over the middle in the end zone, making the score 7-0 Trojans.

Warren Central responded with a Zach Summeier screen to Daijour Griffie, who took it in to tie things up 7-7.

In the second quarter, Center Grove back Russ Yeast took a pitch 86 yards to the end zone, helping the home squad to a 14-7 halftime lead.

A short Zach Summeier screen to David Bell tied the game again in the third quarter before a late touchdown and goal line stand sealed the win in the fourth.
