Bloomington police arrest three people in connection with fatal shooting

BLOOMINGTON, Ind. – Bloomington police arrested three people in connection with the shooting death of a woman early Sunday morning.

Officers were dispatched to the shooting in the 2300 block of South Rogers Street around 12:50 a.m., where they found Brittany Sater, 26, suffering from a gunshot wound at her neighbor’s house. She was transported to Indiana University Health Bloomington Hospital in critical condition. She died from her injuries at 9:56 a.m.

Investigators followed up on a number of leads and identified two possible suspects. With assistance from a number of other law enforcement agencies, investigators located Billie Jean Edison, 42, at her house in Greenwood. Edison was taken into custody without incident.

A second suspect, Johnny Moore, 31, was later arrested at an apartment in Indianapolis. He was also arrested without incident.

Just before noon on Monday, investigators arrested a third person in connection with the case. Dennis Webb, 21, of Indianapolis was arrested at 62nd and Michigan.

It is believed that Edison, Moore, and Webb tried to rob Sater, and she was shot during the robbery.

All three suspects were charged with murder, robbery and burglary.
