‘Shelter in place’ lifted at Ball State after report of man with gun on campus
MUNCIE, Ind.– Ball State University students were advised to shelter on place Thursday night due to a report of a man with a gun on campus.
Just after 10 p.m., the shelter in place was lifted.
An alert posted to the university’s website told students to avoid the area of DeHorty/Woodworth Halls.
The following alert was posted on Ball State’s website:
Primary suspect is white male with dark, short hair, age 18-22, wearing a black long-sleeved shirt with the sleeves partly rolled up, brown cargo shorts, black socks and black shoes. He is the one with the gun. The pink-and-gray striped shirt male also is white with dark, short hair, age 18-22, accompanying other male.
Officials said there is no ongoing threat. Police are still investigating the incident.
