8 injured in Bloomington crash; State Road 37 now back open

BLOOMINGTON, Ind.– Police are on the scene of a crash in Bloomington where multiple injuries were reported.

Both lanes of State Road 37 were closed at Sample Road due to the crash. A semi rear-ended an SUV while both were traveling northbound. The semi then swerved and hit five more vehicles.

There are a total of eight patients, police said. Two were transported to the hospital. The extent of the injuries is unknown at this time.

The driver of the semi was transported to IU Health for a voluntary blood draw.

State Road 37 has reopened since the crash.
