FasTrack Mechanical Play of the Week nominees: September 2
INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. – Week three of prep football gave us the first clear night across Central Indiana this season. Though our umbrellas and rain jackets took the night off, the top plays did not. Here are the two nominees for the FasTrack Mechanical Play of the Week. Vote in the poll below for your favorite.
PLAY #1: LAWRENCE NORTH’S TERRANCE MALLORY
In a heated rivalry clash, Lawrence Central was leading Lawrence North late in the second quarter and threatening to score again. The Bears took to the air, lofting a pass toward the corner of the end zone, but the Wildcats' Terrance Mallory made a beautiful play on the ball, high pointing it in the air, and coming down with the interception, ending the Central scoring threat.
PLAY #2: PIKE'S DARYL BLACK JR
Trailing Ben Davis 14-0 in the first half, Pike was driving and close to cutting into the Giants' lead. In the Red Zone, the Red Devils went airborne, but the pass was deflected high into the air. Pike receiver Daryl Black Jr kept his composure, found the ball, and was able to come down with it at the Ben Davis one yard line. The drive eventually resulted in a Red Devils' touchdown.
