INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. – A person was injured and taken to an area hospital after a car ran into a house on the city’s west side Saturday evening.

The Indianapolis Fire Department and the Pike Township Fire Department responded to the crash near West 46th Street and I-465 around 7:10 p.m.

Fire officials say the driver failed to negotiate the turn off Apache Rive at Comanche Lane and ended up in the front of the house.

Crews pulled the car out and “shored” up the house to avoid the structure from collapsing further.
