FRESHENING UP AFTER THE FRONT
A wind shift early Wednesday and we temporarily lower the humidity again. The passage of the front so early in the day did exactly what we thought it would do, not produce much in the way of rainfall.
Spotty showers and t-storm chances are dropping early Wednesday evening as the front heads south tonight. A northeast wind has developed and the humidity will lower though the night.
A temporary cool off for Thursday then the same front returns as a warm front Friday. Wind blow away from high pressure anchored over the Upper Peninsula of Michigan where frost advisories have been hoisted!
RAIN CHANCES RISE AGAIN FOR THE WEEKEND
The last weekend of summer will include the best rain chances over the next 7 days, on Saturday. Showers will become more numerous later Friday and spill into Saturday morning. The outlook at this distance is showers will reach peak coverage Saturday to about 30 to 40% of the area. Currently, there looks to be some dry time and rain-free hours. We will firm up later this week.
SUMMER HEAT STAGES COMEBACK
Wednesday marked the 99th 80° day in Indianapolis this year, that's one shy of 2015's total. We will add to that tally in the days ahead and even go higher.
We enter the final week of summer with late season heat next week. Heat will build by mid-week and the final day of Summer, (Wednesday) and the first day of fall (Thursday) could reach 90°.
