Murder charge filed against man sought in connection with September homicide
UPDATE: On Sept. 19, murder, burglary and criminal confinement charges were filed against Drake, but police said he was not in custody yet.
INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. – Police want to question a man in connection with a fatal shooting from earlier this month.
Indianapolis Metropolitan police are looking for Robert Drake, 26, Indianapolis, and say they want to question him about the Sept. 6 shooting. He’s considered a person of interest in the investigation.
Around 9 p.m. on Sept. 6, IMPD officers were dispatched to the 1100 block of North Kealing Avenue in response to a shooting. A man was found dead at the scene.
Witnesses told police during the investigation that two men got into an argument. One man was shot and killed during the incident; witnesses said the shooting suspect left the area in a four-door silver vehicle.
Earlier that day, police investigated another homicide in the 1000 block of North Kealing. They don’t believe the two shootings are related.
