Two arrested after detectives find drugs, stolen gun inside west side home

INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. – IMPD detectives arrested two men at a west side home Thursday morning after they found drugs, a stolen gun and cash inside.

Detectives served a search warrant to the residence in the 1700 block of Pele Place around 11:30 a.m. after an investigation revealed that heroin may have been dealt there.

During the search, police located black tar heroin, cocaine, marijuana, $1,627 in cash and a stolen .45 caliber Ruger Firearm with an extended magazine.

Ernest Spye, 34, and James Conley, 33, were found inside and were detained. Spye was preliminarily charged with dealing narcotics, possession of narcotics and possession of a firearm by a serious violent felon. Conley was preliminarily charged with dealing narcotics, possession of narcotics and possession of marijuana.

The Marion County Prosecutor’s Office will review the case and make a final charging decision.
