Two sought in Anderson home invasion

ANDERSON, Ind. - The search is on for two suspects in a home invasion along Cedar Street in Anderson. Police said the men held up the home at gunpoint Thursday. The female victim inside escaped unhurt, and the suspects also got away.

Investigators say the crime occurred around 10:30 a.m., when two young men barged into the house.

“By the time we got out here, police had surrounded the neighborhood,” said Bill Ford, who lives down the street.

Ford saw the scene. Once he heard about the home invasion, he went over to talk to the woman who lives there. The victim ran for her life to flee the gunmen.

“She said somebody broke in the back door and had a gun up to my head,” Ford said.

Anderson police couldn’t capture the two men, who they describe as both young, African-American, 5 foot 7 inches, and 130 pounds.

“Anytime we have the youth involved in illegal activity it is disconcerting,” said Sandefur.

Investigators said witnesses provided information that may help identify the suspects, and they believe they’re still in the area.

“We do have a good idea of who it might be,” said Sandefur.
