INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. – Two Indianapolis teenagers rode a Jetski over the Broad Ripple Dam on the White River around 3 p.m. Sunday.
Jade Christensen, 17, told officers that she was operating her family’s Kawasaki Jetski with her friend Savannah Perkins, 14, when she noticed something in the river. As the girls got closer to investigate, the current reportedly took both of them over the dam.
Christensen was able to power the Jetski out of the pool at the bottom of the dam and onto the river bank.
Neither girl was injured in the fall. Both were wearing life jackets.
We’re told Christensen has many hours of Jetski experience, but she had never been on the White River before and was unaware of the dam.
The crash is being investigated by Conservation Officer Jon Fennig.
