INDIANAPOLIS, Ind— Indianapolis police say a truck stolen in an armed carjacking has been located, but they’re still searching for the person responsible for the carjacking.

The victim in this case was on his way to football practice with his son when they stopped to buy a drink. The father left his son alone in the truck for just a few moments before the thief struck.

Video shows the father and son get out of the truck when the suspect jumped behind the wheel and drove away.

Police say the armed thief is clearly a danger and needs to be caught.

“I mean if he’s willing to confront a kid and yank him out of the car and when the parent comes to him to show his gun, he’s got an attitude and he needs to be seen by a judge,” said Sgt. DeBois.

Police say the case is an important safety reminder to never leave your keys in your car when you go into a store.

We initially reported that the boy was dragged out of the truck, but that is incorrect. Once police saw the surveillance video, they realized the victims did not give a correct account.
