It's a difficult decision but one she had to make.

Kristin Kane announced Monday morning that she would leave FOX59 Morning News after spending three years in Indianapolis.

Seated next to co-anchor Scott Jones, traffic reporter Britt Baker and meteorologist Jim O'Brien, Kristin called it a "bittersweet" moment during Monday's broadcast.

For the last several years, she's been in a long-distance relationship with her husband, Tom, who lives in New York. She travels back and forth between Indy and New York every other weekend so they can spend time together.

"The time has now come that I need to be with my husband full-time, which is why I have decided to leave Indianapolis and move to New York," Kristin told viewers Monday.

She hopes to start a family soon and knows that would be difficult when they live more than 770 miles away from each other. She also had a message for FOX59 Morning News viewers.

"This was a very tough decision as I have grown to love Indy, I work with some wonderful and talented people and I've met some great Hoosiers outside of work as well.  I want to thank you for being such loyal FOX59 morning viewers and dedicated KK fans over the years.  You have made getting up at 2 a.m. totally worth it! At this point in my life, I need to put my personal life ahead of my career."

Kristin's last day on FOX59 Morning News is Friday, September 30.
