INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. – It was a tough morning for the FOX59 family as we said goodbye to anchor Kristin Kane.
Kristin Kane announced on Monday that she was leaving Indianapolis after working at FOX59 for three years.
For the last seven years, she's been in a long-distance relationship with her husband, Tom, who lives in New York. She travels back and forth between Indy and New York every other weekend so they can spend time together.
"The time has now come that I need to be with my husband full-time, which is why I have decided to leave Indianapolis and move to New York," Kristin told viewers Monday.
She hopes to start a family soon and knows that would be difficult when they live more than 770 miles away from each other. She also had a message for FOX59 Morning News viewers.
"This was a very tough decision as I have grown to love Indy, I work with some wonderful and talented people and I've met some great Hoosiers outside of work as well. I want to thank you for being such loyal FOX59 morning viewers and dedicated KK fans over the years. You have made getting up at 2 a.m. totally worth it! At this point in my life, I need to put my personal life ahead of my career."
But before her departure, she shared one last laugh with us during the “September Moments” segment.
