Man arrested in connection with north side shooting that left 1 seriously injured

UPDATE: 

Larry Carroll pleaded guilty to battery with a deadly weapon. He was sentenced to three years in prison with a 282-day jail credit.

PREVIOUS STORY:

INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. – IMPD detectives arrested a suspect Monday evening that they believe shot a man on the north side earlier that day.

IMPD says the shooting occurred around 8:15 a.m. in the Turtle Creek apartment complex near the intersection of West 86th Street and Harcourt Road.

There, officers found a 22-year-old man who had been shot multiple times. He was transported to St. Vincent’s Hospital in serious condition.

Detectives spoke with additional witnesses in that area who were asked to notify police if they observed anyone matching the suspect description leaving the area.

Witnesses called 911 when they saw the suspect around 11 a.m. Officers responded and took the suspect, Larry Carroll, 23, into custody without incident.

Carroll was preliminarily charged with aggravated battery.

After being interviewed by detectives, he was transported to the Arrestee Processing Center for booking.
