WASHINGTON – You have to hand it to Alfred Duncan—the man knows how to make a lady feel special.

Duncan proposed to his girlfriend, Sherrell Woodward, on Saturday. She was led to a room where friends, family and Duncan awaited her arrival. The touching moment was captured on video.

“I take this moment in front of everybody that we love to ask you, will you please by my wife?” Duncan said.

She said yes, but that was just the beginning of an incredible day for the certified fitness trainer and her Grammy-and Emmy-nominated beau. Duncan gave a Woodward a series of surprises, including a makeover.

It all culminated, just hours after the proposal, with a surprise wedding. Woodward was blindfolded and put in a car. When she got out, friends took off the blindfold and Woodward realized what was going on. Emotions overwhelmed her.

“I’m so happy that you chose to do this with me,” she said, fighting tears. “I love you with my whole heart, baby. I can’t imagine what my life would be without you. I love you so much. It’s much deeper than anyone in this room would ever know.”

One of the guests streamed the wedding live on Facebook with the caption, “#She woke up his girlfriend, by noon they were engaged, by nightfall she was his wife #ForeverDuncan Sherrell Woodward and Alfred Duncan got married today.”

The wedding captured the attention of social media, with the hashtag #ForeverDuncan gaining traction as friends and family shared photos and videos of the special day. The couple also launched a website to tell their story and share more about the wedding.
