Pacers open preseason with 113-96 win

Point guard Jeff Teague makes a pass in the Pacers' 113-96 preseason-opening win over the Pelicans (WGNO, October 4, 2016).

Al Jefferson scored 14 points in his Pacers debut, leading the Blue and Gold to a preseason-opening win, 113-96 on the road against the Pelicans.

Jefferson was joined by six other Indiana players in double figures: Thaddeus Young (12), Joe Young (12), Georges Niang (12), Rodney Stuckey (11), Paul George (11), and Jeff Teague (10).

In total, 14 Pacers’ players saw time on the court. Those who did not for injury-related reasons were Myles Turner (concussion) and Aaron Brooks (hip flexor strain). Rookies Alex Poythress and Nick Zeisloft were not listed on any injury report, but never saw action in the game.

The Blue and Gold next play Thursday, October 6 inside Bankers Life Fieldhouse, hosting the Bulls at 7:00 p.m.
