Police apprehend man who escaped custody at downtown processing center
Johnny Gamill pleaded guilty to escaping lawful detention on June 15, 2017. His resisting law enforcement charge was dismissed. He was sentenced to four years in prison with a one year suspension and a 24 day jail credit.

INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. – Police apprehended a man who they say escaped custody at the Arrestee Processing Center in downtown Indianapolis Wednesday evening.
IMPD says that Johnny Gamill was in a deputy’s vehicle after he was arrested earlier. While at the APC, he exited the back door of the vehicle, scaled a 12-foot fence, and fled in a northeast direction.
Police set us a perimeter, and they located Gamill in the area of 1200 East 10th street on a bicycle.
After a brief foot chase, Gamill was re-apprehended with a handcuff on one wrist in the rear of 1223 East 10th Street.
