INDIANAPOLIS –Metro police executed a search warrant on a southeast side residence and recovered drugs, cash and a weapon.

Narcotics detectives, the Southeast Flex Team with the help of IMPD SWAT, took a search warrant with them as they knocked on the door of a home in the 1100 block of Bates Street.

The target of that warrant, 46-year-old Brand McAlister refused to open the door, so SWAT members forced entry and made an arrest.

Detectives searched the residence and were able to recover nearly an ounce of Methamphetamine, a handgun, and $5,353 in cash.

McAlister was arrested and taken into custody on preliminary charges of dealing Methamphetamine, possession of Methamphetamine, possession of a controlled substance, maintaining a common nuisance, and possession of paraphernalia.

The Marion County Prosecutor’s Office will review the case and make a final charging decision.

According to IMPD, their Narcotics and Vice detectives continue to address incoming complaints from the community and identify narcotics activity through their own investigations.
