Muslim groups post anti-ISIS billboards in several U.S. cities: ‘Hey ISIS, you suck!’

MIAMI, Fla. – They don’t like or support ISIS—and they want to make sure the terrorist group and the world know it.

Several billboards have gone up around the country with an eye-catching slogan: “Hey ISIS, you suck!!!” including one on Interstate 75 in Miami. The signs include the hashtag #ActualMuslims and a passage from the Quran, “Life is sacred.”

“It’s for Muslims, especially Muslims in South Florida, to tell our neighbors, our friends, our co-workers, that Muslims condemn terrorism in very clear terms,” Yasir Billoo from the Coalition of South Florida Muslim Organizations told WPLG.

The billboard is part of a campaign from Sound Vision, a public relations firm that aims to draw a distinct line between ISIS and Muslims. The firm hopes the signs combat will combat a rise in Islamophobia that has coincided with ISIS’ brazen acts of terror worldwide.

“A group of American-Muslim professionals organized like-minded concerned Muslims to raise funds for this campaign,” said Mohammad Siddiqi, executive director of Sound Vision. “These are common folks, and the billboard is their declaration of independence from ISIS.”

American Muslims say they’ve seen discrimination at work and school that has involved bullying against children, women in hijabs, head scarves and other distinctive Muslim clothing.

"We are one human family," Billoo said. "We should be united against the plague that is terrorism. We are better than this. And the only way we will defeat terrorism is to stay united."

The billboard has gone up in other cities, including Chicago, Phoenix and St. Louis.
