West Lafayette police investigating 4 ‘sexual offenses’ reported within 12 hours

WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind.– Police in West Lafayette say they are investigating four separate sexual offenses that all occurred within 12 hours.

Police are classifying them as “sexual offenses” until they learn more about the incidents. As they get more information, they may be classified as sexual assaults.

The first incident, reported Thursday afternoon, happened near Purdue University’s campus in the 700 block of Northwestern Avenue.

The second incident was reported at 2:30 a.m. Friday morning at the John T. Myers Pedestrian Bridge, near the fountain in Tapawingo Park. A third report came in at 3:10 a.m. Friday in the 100 block of South Chauncey Avenue.

The fourth incident was reported at 3:30 a.m. in the 400 block of Northwestern Avenue.

Police were unable to provide any specifics about the incidents. At this time, they do not believe they are related.

No arrests have been made in any of the cases.
