INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. – From all the prep football action we saw Friday night across Central Indiana, two plays stood out above the rest. They are nominees for the FasTrack Mechanical Play of the Week, and your vote will determine the winner.

NOMINEE #1: CENTER GROVE’S RUSS YEAST

With just seconds left in the first half, Center Grove was trying to strike Cathedral before going into the locker room, and the Trojans turned to Russ Yeast. After catching a short pass, Yeast took off down the far sideline before zig-zaging his way back across the field, out of the reach of any Irish defenders on his way to the end zone. Yeast scored five touchdowns on the day, and Center Grove needed every one of them in a 44-41 overtime win over Cathedral to close out the regular season.

NOMINEE #2: NEW PALESTINE'S DURON FORD

New Palestine's seniors entered their regular season finale having never lost a regular season game in their high school careers. To close it out one final time, the Dragons turned to tailback DuRon Ford. This run didn't go into the end zone, but Ford showed his versatility as a back by shedding arm tackles, muscling through defenders with a stiff-arm, and dodging players with a few sharp cuts. Ford scored four touchdowns as New Pal took down Delta 56-15 to finish the regular season a perfect 9-0 for the fourth straight year.
