INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. – Metro police are investigating after an 86-year-old man was robbed by a suspect claiming to be an electrical worker.

The elderly victim says the suspect arrived to his home in the 4400 block of Bertha Street in a large pickup truck around 10:15 a.m.

The suspect reportedly claimed he was investigating “an electrical problem” by the victim’s home. The suspect then grabbed the victim’s wallet from his hand, pushed him backwards onto an asphalt driveway and drove off in his truck.

Police say the suspect was a white man, 35 to 42 years old, around 6’1” and 220 pounds. He was wearing a workman’s hard hat with the letter “U” on both sides.

The victim has a “sore back” from the incident, but declined to be taken to the hospital.
