INDIANAPOLIS, Ind--A church in Indianapolis’ near north side was hit by vandals overnight.

The pastor at the Mount Moriah Missionary Church near 23rd Street and Keystone Avenue said when he walked into the parking lot Friday morning he found glass everywhere.

That’s when he said he noticed the windows of the two of the church’s vans had been broken.

IMPD says similar incidents have happened several times before at the church, and the church’s pastor says another incident happened earlier this week.

“You would think in 2016 that people would have more grace, his is a place of worship. it’s different than some random vehicle in the parking lot so I think it does heightens people’s awareness. IMPD officer Aaron Hamer said.

Investigators say it’s unclear if any of the other previous cases of vandalism at the church are related. There are surveillance cameras posted in the church’s parking lot but it’s unclear if anything relating to the vandalism was captured.  The church’s pastor says he’s looking into possibly hiring security to keep his members safe.
