Hoosier voters encountered long lines at several polling locations around the state for Election Day.

Wait times ranged from 15 minutes to about two hours depending on the location. Be sure to check out our election guide and follow our live blog throughout the day as we keep an eye on voter turnout and tight races both locally and nationally.

Monroe County Clerk Nicole Browne says “things are smoothing out” there this morning. All polls are open and most inspectors reported lines when polls opened.

FOX59’s Larra Overton reported that it took 17 minutes to vote in Broad Ripple this morning. Lindsey Eaton said it took her 25 minutes to vote at the John Barton Annex near Mass Ave.

As of 5 p.m. 27,440 people have voted in Monroe County. The polls close in about a half hour. If you are standing in line at 6 p.m. you will get to vote.
