INDIANAPOLS, Ind. – An east side furniture store was damaged Sunday when a possibly intoxicated driver “plowed” through a wall.

The crash happened around 11:30 a.m. at the Décor Furniture store near the intersection of Bosart Avenue and 10th Street.

Police say a van carrying five people took out some bricks on the store, then crossed a road and hit a pole. The occupants of the vehicle fled on foot, including the driver and a 6-year-old boy who he grabbed.

The 35-year-old driver was quickly apprehended and arrested. The child was unharmed.

Police say they’re investigating the driver for suspicion of OWI and possible child endangerment.

There were no injuries reported in the crash.
