Two people shot, 1 killed on city’s east side

INDIANAPOLIS–Metro Police were called to their third homicide investigation of the day, Sunday.

Around 4:30 p.m. officers were called to the 1900 block of North  Dearborn Street on a report of a person shot.

When officers arrived they found a 45-year-old male dead from gunshot wounds seated in a car.   A 33-year-old female in the passenger side  had also been shot.

She was taken by ambulance to IU Health Methodist Hospital in stable condition.

Police say her injuries are non-life threatening.

Detectives were interviewing witnesses and crime lab technicians were processing the vehicle.

Investigators say they believe the shooting may have occurred at a different location.
