INDIANAPOLIS — 5-year-old Elijah Davis has a better way to get in and out of his house thanks to some helpful firefighters.

Members of the Decatur Township Fire Department helped pick up and install the wheel chair ramp at the youngster’s home.

The ramp itself was donated by the family of retired Indianapolis Fire Department chief Brian Sanford who passed away in March.

Sanford lost his battle with Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis (ALS).

Elijah Davis has cerebral palsy and is wheelchair bound.

Tracy Fulton helped secure the ramp for the Davis family. ¬†Fulton is a Public Safety dispatcher and friends with Elijah’s mother.

The Sanford family was looking to donate the ramp to someone in need.

The ramp which was useful to chief Sanford during his illness, will now serve young Elijah Davis.
