Good Sunday morning everyone! We are tracking the potential for rain and snow as we head through the day. Temperatures are hovering around freezing right now so we could see some snowflakes this morning.
Temperatures will climb to near 40 degrees this afternoon transitioning any snow over to rain in central Indiana.
Models are keeping a bulk of the precipitation just west of Indiana during the morning hours. But we may still see some flurries or sprinkles starting off our Sunday.
Around noon, a mix of rain and snow will move into our western counties.
As temperatures climb above freezing this afternoon snow will transition to rain in central Indiana and areas south.
During the evening hours the system will move east taking any precipitation with it.
Some light accumulations are possible from Lafayette to Kokomo to Muncie and areas north. Indianapolis and central Indiana may see some snow but no accumulation is expected.
Several systems will move through the region next week bringing rain showers on Tuesday and snow showers Thursday and over the weekend. Arctic air settles in to end the work week, keeping highs in the 20s and mornings will start in the teens.
