INDIANAPOLIS, Ind.– Customers will be lining up at the first Joella’s Hot Chicken location in Indiana for the company’s grand opening–but they’ll have to wait a little longer to cash in.

The restaurant, located at 4715 East 96th Street, was set to open on Dec. 16, but due to “unforeseen circumstances beyond their control,” the grand opening will be delayed.

“We are disappointed that diners will have to wait a little longer to get their first taste of Joella’s Hot Chicken, but due to circumstances beyond our control we have to wait a little longer to open our doors. We are grateful for the support we have received over the past few weeks from members of the community excited about the opening of Indy’s first Joella’s Hot Chicken,” said Tony Palombino, founder/CEO of EAP Restaurant Concepts, which owns Joella’s Hot Chicken.

A new date for the grand opening hasn’t been announced yet.

For the grand opening, the restaurant is giving away nearly $50,000 worth of free chicken meals. The first 100 adults in line for the event will get a one-year supply of Joella’s Hot Chicken, in the form of 52 coupons. Winners must be at least 18 years old with identification.

They will also be giving away prizes between 8-8:30 a.m. Guests waiting in line will be treated to complimentary hot chicken samples, coupons and free apparel items.

The popular Louisville-based fast casual dining chain has plans to open more restaurants in Indiana in 2017.
