INDIANAPOLIS, Ind.—Two men were taken into custody following a home invasion robbery on Indianapolis’ west side Friday afternoon.

Officers with the Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department responded to the residence in the 4000 block of Gamay Lane just after noon. Officers gained entry into the house and were able to get victims outside the home, reported IMPD.

While removing people from the residence, an officer noticed an armed male suspect. Officers retreated from the house and called for assistance of the IMPD SWAT team.

Authorities say negotiators made several attempts to communicate with the suspects inside the home, but the men did not comply. SWAT entered the house and officers were able to detain two individuals.

The suspects—46-year-old Omar Greggs and 44-year-old Richard Joyner—were arrested on charges of robbery, kidnapping and criminal confinement.

Anyone with information regarding the incident is asked to contact Crime Stoppers at 317-262-8477. The case is being reviewed by the Marion County Prosecutor’s Office to determine official charges.
