UPDATE:  The Madison County Sheriff’s Department has cancelled a silver alert for 77-year-old Joyce Carol Shaw .  According to the Sheriff’s Department, Shaw has been found safe.

MADISON COUNTY, Ind. – A Silver Alert has been issued for a missing Anderson woman who suffers from dementia.

The Madison County Sheriff’s Department says 77-year-old Joyce Carol Shaw was reported missing Saturday night around 11:11 p.m.

Joyce reportedly left her home in a gray 2014 Ford Escape (with Indiana license plate WJK802) around 4 p.m. Saturday to go to a Christmas party. She is white, 4’10”, about 104 pounds, with gray hair and brown eyes.

Authorities say she used a card at an Indianapolis gas station around 5:30 a.m. Sunday.

Deputies tell FOX59 that Joyce does not have family or friends in the Indianapolis area. Due to mental impairment, or lack of medication, deputies believe she is not able to find her way back to her residence and driving could be a danger to herself or others.
