Good Saturday morning everyone. We are waking up to icy roads and very treacherous travel conditions. A Winter Weather Advisory is in effect until 10am this morning and again starting at 7pm tonight through Sunday morning.

Overnight night freezing rain and sleet have left a coating of ice. Additional icing will occur this morning and then again this evening. The pink on futurecast indicates freezing rain and sleet.

Warmer air moving up from the south is very slowly transitioning precipitation over to rain. Temperatures will hover right around freezing just north of the city through 11am continuing to cause slick conditions.

Right now models are indicating a couple of hours of dry time from about 1pm to 5pm.

Cold air will once again move south through the state as an arctic front slides in this afternoon. Temperatures will drop transitioning rain over to freezing rain and sleet once again.

As temperatures drop any wet surfaces will freeze and become icy. Sleet and freezing rain redevelop around 5pm moving southeast until midnight.

During the early morning hours precipitation will fall in the form of snow continuing until midday Sunday.

Rainfall totals will range from .25" to .5". Any wet surfaces will freeze this evening.

Light snow accumulations are possible. In central Indiana .5-1" of snow is possible with up to 2 inches in northern Indiana.

Arctic air will drop temperatures into the teens overnight with breezy northwesterly winds making it feel like the single digits Sunday morning.

Monday morning some areas will wake up to sub zero temperatures and wind chills to -10º .

Temperatures moderate back into the upper 30s by the middle of the week with more rain/snow chances.
