VINCENNES, Ind. – A man died after an officer-involved shooting in the parking lot of a southern Indiana gas station Tuesday night.

Police say the shooting occurred as they were trying to serve a felony warrant at the Vincennes Chuckles on Old Decker Road at approximately 8:57 p.m. They were looking for 35-year-old David Zimmerman.

Officers say at least one officer fired a weapon and struck Zimmerman. He went to Vincennes’ Good Samaritan Hospital, where he died from his injuries, according to state police. Zimmerman was wanted for a parole violation. Police in unmarked vehicles spotted his truck at the gas station.

State troopers involved in the shooting were not hurt. The case remains under investigation.
