Coroner identifies man fatally shot on east side of Indianapolis

INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. – Indianapolis police are investigating a fatal shooting that occurred on the east side of Indianapolis Tuesday afternoon.

Officers were called to the scene in the 6000 block of East 34th Street shortly after 5 p.m..

Police say a male victim was found lying in a parking lot in the area. EMS arrived and pronounced him dead at the scene. He was later identified as Brandon Alexander, 30.

The Marion County coroner determined his cause of death to be multiple gunshot wounds, and his manner of death was homicide.

Homicide detectives are interviewing potential witnesses. Police say they have no suspects at this time.
