Hancock Co. shooting sends teen to hospital

MCCORDSVILLE, Ind. — Authorities in Hancock County are currently investigating a shooting, where a teen was injured Saturday night.

This happened shortly after 11 p.m., in the Austin Trace neighborhood on Odessa Way.

McCordsville Assistant Police Chief, Major Paul Casey, confirmed reports that a teen had been shot in the back and was rushed to an area hospital.

Right before midnight, officers from several departments started investigating.

Police say a K9 unit was used to search the area. During that time, they asked residents to stay in their home while they searched.
