Buying a home can be a confusing process, especially for a first-time buyer. Zeida Suljkanovic, a trusted advisor from Berkshire Hathaway HomeServices Indiana Realty, says finding someone you can count on, makes the process smoother. That starts with helping you to understand the process.
Suljkanovic, says there are some misconceptions that buyers have when working with an agent. Many buyers believe that they must pay a buyer’s agent upfront to go look at homes. However, that’s not the case.
“A buyer’s agent gets paid at the closing of a sale, and the buyer’s commission comes out of the listing’s commission. If you are not happy and you do not get to closing on the home, the agent does not get paid,” Suljkanovic said.
Communication is also key, something Suljkanovic takes pride in. Suljkanovic wants to be accessible to her clients, and she can be with the tap of a finger on a smart phone.
“One of the coolest tools that I have is my own personal app through Berkshire Hathaway. A buyer can get the link from me and sign up to receive alerts from new listings right away,” Suljkanovic said.
It’s important to work with a trusted advisor who can help you through the process, make suggestions, and understands your local market. An agent who will be with you every step of the way can help you decide what’s best for you.
