Coroner’s office identifies teen killed in east side shooting

INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. – A teenager died in a shooting on the east side of Indianapolis Monday night.

Police were called to the scene near East 38th Street and North Franklin Road shortly before 6 p.m.

When officers arrived, they found a person down “who appeared to have been shot.” The Indianapolis Fire Department responded and pronounced the man deceased at the scene. The Marion County Coroner’s Office identified the deceased as 18-year-old Stachonn Nance and said he died from a gunshot wound.

Homicide detectives were called to canvass the area for witnesses.
