    INDIANAPOLIS — Indiana State Excise police officers arrested or cited 139 minors, 40 adults, and 15 juveniles on 245 charges while working enforcement patrols Friday, Saturday, and Sunday at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway.   • Free smoke alarm blitz planned

    INDIANAPOLIS — One device could save your life, and today the Indianapolis Fire Department wants to make sure you have one. Thursday, volunteers are going door-to-door installing free smoke alarms and carbon monoxide detectors in the Bates-Hendricks neighborhood on the near south side of Indianapolis.   • Teen fatally shot, 2 others wounded on city’s northwest side

    INDIANAPOLIS– IMPD is investigating a shooting involving multiple victims, one of whom was wounded fatally. The gunfire erupted shortly after midnight Saturday near the intersection of W. 38th St. and Moller Rd., in the parking lot of American Freight Furniture and Mattress.   • Pedestrian fatally struck along I-70 on east side identified

    INDIANAPOLIS–Indiana State Police are confirming that a pedestrian was struck by a vehicle and killed late Sunday. It happened shortly after 10 p.m. along I-70 near the Emerson Ave. exit. When state police arrived on scene they found the victim lying on the right shoulder of the roadway, unconscious and not breathing, according to a news release.     INDIANAPOLIS — Two residents of a downtown home were able to escape a smoky blaze early Wednesday–a fire that claimed the lives of their two dogs, and left six cats unaccounted for.     COLUMBIA CITY, Ind. – Authorities canceled a Silver Alert for a missing 81-year-old man after he was found alive and well. The Columbia City Police Department issued the alert early Monday morning, and they canceled it a few hours later. Family reported Ronald Hull, 81, missing after he wasn’t seen for several hours, but police say he was later found alive and well.

    INDIANAPOLIS — A party at a south side residence ended abruptly when a fight escalated into a stabbing, and a car drove into a pond.     BROWNSBURG, Ind. — A small fire at the Bulldog Sports Bar and Brownsburg Bowl building caused minor damage early Monday. Fire units were called about 12:30 a.m. to the building located at 18 Whittington Dr. on the north end of Brownsburg. They found a small, smokey fire in an exterior room at the front of the building.
