  • NWS confirms a weak tornado from Tuesday evening

    Showers and storms rolled through central Indiana on Tuesday but storms turned severe Tuesday afternoon and evening, including a few tornado warnings. The National Weather Service confirms that a weak tornado did touch down briefly in Putnam County just 2 miles southeast of Cloverdale at 6:35 p.m. This tornado was rated an EF0 and only produced minor tree damaged.     We had an unseasonably cold weekend here in central Indiana. Highs on Saturday and Sunday gave us a taste of November. Saturday’s high was 20 degrees below normal while Sunday still missed normal by 10 degrees. Temperatures are set to improve as we enter the workweek but the upper level low that brought in the cold air will continue to keep rain in our forecast.   • Frost advisory issued for early Sunday, temperatures to dip to mid-30s

    Temperatures will continue to tumble here in central Indiana as this cold air takes over. The high in Indianapolis only hit 49°F today which put us at levels we’d typically see in late November. Plus, this is the first time we’ve failed to reach 50°F since April 15th! Lows should fall into the mid to low 30s and this means some patchy frost across the state.   • Warm temperatures continue but a major cool down is brewing

    Our first full weekend of fall was more summer-like than anything as highs reached the low 80s both days. Skies remain mostly clear again for Sunday night and temperatures will fall into the upper 50s across the metro area and as low as the mid 50s in the outlying areas.     Central Indiana continues to see above normal temperatures this weekend and the dry weather will also continue for several more days. We are already 6 days without rain in Indianapolis and we’ll at least tack on 4 more before rain returns Thursday night.   • Temperatures continue to climb back to summer levels

    After a couple of cool days and nights, temperatures will continue to slowly climb back to late-summer levels this week. Today, we ended up with temperatures in the low 70s, which was an improvement from the high of 66°F on Monday.     It’s has been a beautiful and sunny day here in central Indiana. Temperatures ended up in the mid 60s which leaves us around 10 degrees below normal for this time of year.   • Cooler air arrives for the start of the fall season

    Central Indiana has seen a breezy and cooler day to end the weekend. What’s crucial about the wind is the direction it’s coming from and that’s the northwest. This will bring in cooler and drier air for the overnight hours and this will allow our temperatures to fall very quickly.   • Rain returns Saturday along with warmer temperatures

    Temperatures have been slowly climbing this week and the ample sunshine the last few days has helped to warm us up into the 70s.
