jennyJenny Anchondo co-anchors Fox 59 Morning News from 4-6 a.m. every weekday and is also a reporter for the station. She came to Indianapolis in 2010 from Tucson, Arizona, where she was the morning co-anchor for KOLD-TV. Before that, she was the evening Anchor/Reporter for KNDU-TV in Kennewick, Wash. and a Reporter for KNDO-TV in Yakima, Wash.

Volunteerism is one of Jenny’s passions. She has been involved with the Salvation Army and Habitat for Humanity since she was a young girl. Literacy is one of her philanthropic focus areas and since moving to Indianapolis, she has been involved in numerous youth literacy projects such as the “Elevate Your Reading” campaign, the United Way of Central Indiana’s “Read Up” campaign and KIPP Indy’s literacy program.  She has also volunteered for Pike Freshman Center’s Career Day, and the Pacers “Season of Giving”.

Upon moving to Indianapolis, Jenny helped to start up “Mentoring Womens Network”.  She remains an active board member of “MWN”, which exists to provide support, personal connections, encouragement and mentoring to women in the greater Indianapolis area.

She is extremely involved in the dance community as well, and stills serves on the board for the Tucson Dance Foundation, which provides financial support for children involved in performing arts. She studied classical ballet for 15 years, and went on to become a collegiate cheerleader and pro indoor football cheerleader.  She is also passionate about fitness and has worked as fitness writer, personal trainer and group fitness instructor for the past ten years and teaches everything from Zumba to boot camp to Spinning. She is certified through several agencies including the American Council on Exercise.

Aside from anchoring and reporting for Fox59 Morning News, Jenny investigates local issues in central Indiana in her “Taking Action” segment, which airs Mondays between 4 and 6 p.m.

Fox59 has a partnership with Little Red Door Cancer Agency and Jenny also reports bi-monthly on cancer-related issues that affect the central Indiana community.

Jenny has been honored to be a guest speaker,  host and emcee for several events in Indianapolis, including the Midwest Fashion Week “Empowerment Revealed Fashion Show”, Midwest Fashion Week’s “Fashion Inside Out” panel, Little Red Door Cancer Agency’s “Unite 2 Fight: Get Moving 2 Beat Cancer” and “Face of Hope Breakfast”, the American Lung Association’s “Fight For Air Climb” and “VIP Reception”, the Indy Gals Networking Open House and the Day Nursery Association’s “Children’s Autumn Di-Vine” fundraiser and the Indiana Construction Association’s media panel.

Jenny was thrilled about earning the position in Indianapolis, having heard about how warm and welcoming the people in the city are. She was happy to find out all the rumors are true and is enjoying  life here in the Circle City.
