Bio

Vanessa McClure is a reporter for Fox59 Morning News. She joined the Fox 59 News team in September 2010.  Before moving to the Hoosier State, she worked as a Reporter/Anchor in Lincoln, Nebraska.

Vanessa was born and raised in Minnetonka, Minnesota and graduated with honors from the University of Missouri School of Journalism. She also received a Bachelor’s of Arts and Science degree for her second major, French.

“What I like about TV news is the opportunity to learn something new every day and the chance to meet really inspiring people and share their stories,” Vanessa said.

What do you do when you’re not at work?

I like to try new challenges. I ran my first half marathon as part of the Indianapolis 500 Mini-Marathon and helped pull an airplane with Special Olympics Indiana. I also volunteer with the American Lung Association in Indiana. My friends and I created a book club, which encourages me to read books I might not have otherwise picked up. It also gives us a reason to all get together and catch up once a month.

Are you a “morning person?”

I’ve always liked getting up early and tackling the day, but I do have to take a lot of naps!  I wake up at 2 a.m. to get to work on time.

Favorite place to travel?

I love Paris. My sister and I both studied abroad in France and spend a lot of time plotting trips back there… we don’t always actually go on those trips, but it’s fun to plan.

If you have a story idea to share with Vanessa send her an e-mail or find her on Facebook.  She’d love to hear from you.
