A 911 call from a 1-year-old girl lead to the arrest of her grandmother. Tuesday night, Marion police were called to an apartment in the 3700 block of Washington Street for a hang-up call.

When police arrived at the apartment, a 42-year-old woman answered the door, saying her 1-year-old granddaughter had called 911 by mistake. Officers said they smelled burnt marijuana inside and asked to search the apartment. The woman, identified as Jaci L. Miller, agreed.

Police said they found rolling papers and a small marijuana cigarette inside the apartment. Miller’s granddaughter wasn’t at the apartment when police arrived but her daughter later returned with the baby. Miller’s teenage son was also present.

Miller claims she only smokes marijuana inside her bedroom away from the children. She was arrested on charges of possession of marijuana and neglect of a dependent.
